's commitment to leading AI governance in partnership with others, reflecting shared democratic values and vision. They propose G7-led action to inform an international code of conduct and common regulatory principles. While international cooperation is important, the U. S. Federal Trade Commission already possesses the tools to enforce responsible AI practices. Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya emphasizes the regulation of AI through unfair and deceptive trade practices laws. The FTC recently initiated an investigation into OpenAI regarding a data leak and the accuracy of its ChatGPT. Artificial intelligence is transforming society, and concerns about its misuse and associated risks have prompted congressional attention. Geoffrey Hinton, a leading figure in AI, has shifted his perspective and now advocates for cautious innovation.
