Fort Worth's JPS Hospital in Texas has implemented artificial intelligence technology from ZeroEyes to enhance security measures. The software is designed to analyze live security camera footage and quickly identify the presence of firearms on the hospital campus. When a gun is detected, trained analysts at ZeroEyes' operations centers are notified, and they subsequently inform local law enforcement, providing details about the location of the weapon and potential victims. The objective is to provide situational awareness to law enforcement and first responders, enabling them to guide individuals on the premises and take appropriate actions. ZeroEyes' technology claims to detect threats within three seconds of a gun being displayed in view of a digital security camera, excluding concealed or holstered firearms. By minimizing false alarms and addressing hoax threats, the system aims to optimize emergency response efforts. JPS Police Chief and Executive Director of Public Safety, Randell Hayen, emphasized the value of the additional security tool in facilitating a swift response.

To protect patient privacy, ZeroEyes analysts are only granted access to notifications of detected threats on a single monitor inside the command centers; they are not permitted access to live feeds from hospital security cameras. The announcement highlighted that ZeroEyes is the only AI-based gun detection video analytics platform to have obtained the U. S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation. This security enhancement comes roughly 15 months following a fatal shooting incident at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, although Hayen did not explicitly connect the implementation at JPS Hospital to that event. The move has drawn attention from Annette Flowers' daughters, Kelly and Sarah, who lost their mother in the 2022 shooting. They expressed cautious optimism regarding the hospital's adoption of the ZeroEyes platform and suggested that it should be combined with other measures to further enhance safety.
