In 2003, I began studying programming as part of my Computer Science degree. I struggled with the unfamiliar programming languages and relied on textbooks for learning. After graduating, I wondered if there was a more effective way to learn. Recently, I decided to explore AI-generative tools. Instead of using textbooks, I found an app called Sololearn. I enrolled in their AI course and found it engaging and challenging. The app incorporates an AI interface that provides real-time feedback, making the learning experience more hands-on. Sololearn also includes a "Streak" functionality that tracks your consecutive correct answers and longest streak, providing motivation during difficult times.

The use of colors to indicate correct answers and streak achievements adds to the overall experience. The app goes beyond lessons and offers fun games, like "Bug Hunter, " where you find bugs in code. Additionally, you can challenge other users within the Sololearn community. However, it would be beneficial to have a chat feature for more interactive competition. The Sololearn community allows users to create code in the Code Playground and receive feedback from the community. Although there is no AI prompt learning in this feature, it is still a useful tool for debugging and getting help. Reflecting on my experience with Sololearn, I believe it would have been a valuable additional learning tool during my university studies. However, it's important for students to also put effort into understanding foundational theory.
