Today, Intel announced its plans to advance its AI PC Acceleration program through the introduction of new toolkits and devkits. These resources are specifically designed for AI developers in both software and hardware development, and will be made available under the new AI PC Developer Program sub-initiative. The program was originally launched on October 23 to establish connections between hardware vendors and software developers. Intel aims to leverage its extensive resources and experience to foster a broader ecosystem as AI development continues to shape the world. Intel's goal is to maximize the potential of AI applications and software, and to expand the AI-focused PC ecosystem. By 2025, the company is aiming to have AI integrated into 100 million Intel-driven PCs. The AI PC Developer Program aims to simplify the adoption of new AI technologies and frameworks on a larger scale. It provides developers with access to various tools, workflows, AI-deployment frameworks, and developer kits. These resources enable developers to leverage the latest NPU technology within Intel's Meteor Lake Core Ultra series of processors. Additionally, the program offers centralized resources including toolkits, documentation, and training to help developers fully utilize both their software and hardware. This integration is crucial for optimizing AI and machine learning application performance.

Many developers are already widely using these toolkits, such as Intel's open-source OpenVino. The centralized resource platform streamlines the AI development process, making it more efficient and effective for developers to incorporate AI capabilities into their applications. This platform plays a vital role in Intel's strategy to advance AI technology and make it more user-friendly and adaptable to real-world applications. Importantly, Intel's focus extends beyond software development. The company aims to engage independent hardware vendors (IHVs) as well. While original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system assemblers are already covered under Microsoft's requirements for Windows certification, Intel wants to involve individual parts vendors. Intel is interested in exploring how AI can be utilized to improve audio performance, display performance, and storage performance. Carla Rodriguez, the Vice President and General Manager of Client Software Ecosystem Enabling, emphasized the expansion of Intel's AI PC Acceleration Program. Rodriguez stated, "We have made great strides with our AI PC Acceleration Program by working with the ecosystem. Today, with the addition of the AI PC Developer Program, we are expanding our reach to go beyond large ISVs and engage with small and medium-sized players and aspiring developers. " She further explained that the goal is to provide a frictionless experience by offering a broad set of tools, including the new AI-ready Developer Kit. The Intel AI PC Acceleration Program provides developers with 24/7 access to resources and early reference hardware. This enables ISVs and software developers to create and optimize workloads before launching retail components. Developers interested in joining the AI PC Acceleration Program can visit the official webpage or email AIPCIHV@intel. com for further information.
