Intuit Enhances GenOS AI Platform to Boost Financial Solutions for Businesses

Intuit Inc. , the financial technology company behind products such as TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, has announced enhancements to its proprietary Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Operating System, known as GenOS. According to a press release issued Tuesday, June 3, these updates aim to speed up the creation and deployment of “done-for-you” agentic AI experiences for Intuit’s roughly 100 million consumer and small and mid-market business customers. “With this significant agentic AI release of our proprietary GenOS, we’re amplifying the power of data, AI, and human intelligence on our platform to drive consumer and business success through transformative done-for-you experiences, ” said Intuit Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Alex Balazs in the release. GenOS integrates data, AI platform capabilities, as well as proprietary domain-specific and commercial large language models (LLMs) to support agent development. Its purpose is to tackle customers’ financial challenges and enable sustainable growth. Intuit intends to introduce new AI agents targeting small and mid-market businesses to streamline daily operations. These agents will focus on areas like customer interactions, payments, finance, project management, and accounting. Designed to deliver predictive insights, perform actions on behalf of customers, and connect them to AI-enabled human experts while maintaining customer control, these tools reflect the company’s vision outlined in the release. Key improvements to GenOS include a comprehensive Agent Starter Kit, which comprises components for agent orchestration, memory, LLMs, and tools.

The system also integrates AI-driven forecasting and recommendation engines. Additional features include GenStudio, a sandbox environment for experimenting with LLMs; GenRuntime, which combines LLMs with data to enable autonomous actions; GenSRF, providing built-in security and risk guardrails; and GenUX, a user experience framework. On the business front, companies are increasingly adopting GenAI technologies to enhance performance and efficiency. According to PYMNTS Intelligence, 90% of CFOs report a highly positive return on investment from using GenAI. Leading U. S. corporations such as United Airlines, Target, and AT&T highlight their use of this technology as a vital element of their strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
