Microsoft Unveils AI-Powered Outlook Themes with Copilot

Brief news summary

Microsoft has introduced "Themes by Copilot," an AI-driven tool that lets Outlook users with a Copilot Pro or business license personalize the app's look. This feature is available across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the web, enabling users to tailor themes using weather or location data. Themes can refresh at set intervals from a few hours to a month, and the "My Location" theme updates automatically with users' movements if location permissions are enabled. Desktop users can receive AI-generated wallpapers, while mobile apps offer a themed top-section image and matching accent colors. For those without a Copilot license, Outlook provides standard themes in colors such as green, red, and purple across all versions. Furthermore, Microsoft is promoting "Notepad by Tom Warren," a newsletter covering AI, gaming, and computing strategies. Subscription options are $7 monthly, $70 annually, or $100 yearly when bundled with "Command Line," with payments accepted via credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Microsoft is introducing AI-powered themes in Outlook, known as "Themes by Copilot. " This new feature requires a Copilot Pro or business license to provide a more personalized appearance to Outlook. These themes are available on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the web, aiming to make Outlook "more beautiful and approachable, " according to Microsoft. Users can create themes based on weather or location, which can update dynamically every few hours, daily, weekly, or monthly. With location permissions enabled, the My Location theme offers imagery inspired by your locale, updating as you travel. Each AI-generated theme includes a desktop wallpaper or a top section for iOS and Android apps, along with an accent color for the Outlook interface.

Microsoft is also launching a set of non-AI themes for users without a Copilot license, including green, red, and purple themes, available on web, PC, Mac, and mobile. Subscribe to Notepad by Tom Warren, a weekly newsletter exploring Microsoft's strategies in AI, gaming, and computing, for $7/month or $70/year, with the first month free. A bundle with Command Line is available for $100/year. Payment options include credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
