The Mount Sinai Health System in New York City has unveiled the Hamilton and Amabel James Center for Artificial Intelligence and Human Health, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery through AI advancements. This innovative facility, located on Mount Sinai Hospital's Manhattan campus, will integrate AI with data science and genomics. Supported by a donation from Tony and Amabel James, the center occupies a 65, 000-square-foot, repurposed building. It will host 40 Principal Investigators, along with 250 graduate students and support staff. The center is designed to revolutionize diagnostics and treatment, fostering breakthroughs in human health.

It includes the Windreich Department of AI and Human Health, focused on embedding AI within Mount Sinai’s healthcare system; the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health, which enhances data science and digital engineering capabilities; and the Institute for Genomic Health, advancing genomic discoveries for disease prevention. Mount Sinai's AI endeavors also feature the Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Institute for precise imaging and nanomedicine research, plus the Institute for Personalized Medicine, which launched a project for sequencing one million genomes to advance precision medicine. Mount Sinai's Windreich Department is committed to advancing AI in health, also recognized by the Hearst Health Prize for its NutriScan AI tool, improving malnutrition diagnoses in hospitalized patients. Overall, the center will drive innovation in healthcare by integrating research and data, aiming for breakthrough discoveries in disease treatment and prevention.
