Rapid-RO combines data from troponin blood tests and other patient information to identify individuals in a very low-risk group for heart attacks.
The AI tool was able to successfully rule out heart attacks in 36% of patients, compared to 27% with only troponin blood testing. Additionally, it was more accurate in identifying heart attack cases, missing only 27 cases compared to 108 missed by troponin tests. The researchers are now planning to develop Rapid-RO into an app for doctors to use. The study findings were presented at the British Cardiovascular Society Conference.
