The question of whether most of us will be intelligent enough to survive in the age of AI is the wrong question. The real question is whether we will be human enough to survive in an AI age. Recent advancements in AI chatbots, AI neural networks, multimodal AI models, and AI combined with robotics are rapidly progressing. AI is surpassing human intelligence in terms of pattern recognition and response. However, human intelligence is not solely defined by pattern recognition.

Human intelligence encompasses social interactions, the imprint of relationships, and the transcendent. If we reduce our humanity to intelligence alone, we are replaceable in an AI age. To recover our humanity, we must focus on the humanities, theology, and the arts. These realms explore what it means to be human in human-to-human interactions, in relation to the transcendent, and through creativity. By nurturing these aspects, AI and robots can become useful helpers in our journey to become more fully human and humane, rather than replacements for our diminished humanity in an AI-dominated world.
