SK Group, the second-largest conglomerate in South Korea, has set a target of generating 80 trillion won ($56 billion) by 2026. This funding will primarily be invested in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors. The group aims to solidify the position of its chipmaking unit as a key provider of advanced memory to Nvidia and other AI companies. During a two-day meeting over the weekend, the company's top executives agreed to utilize the funds generated through improved profitability, optimized business structures, and synergies.
These funds will be used to invest in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, data centers, and personalized AI assistant services. The goal is to enhance supply chains for the growing AI industry.
