University of Arizona Students Innovate with AI at Summer Internship

The students created chatbots, virtual reality experiences, and explored applications in shopping, tourism, language learning, and healthcare. The internship program provides hands-on experience in a startup environment, teaching students to use AI tools and recognize new opportunities.

The interns worked on 12 projects, including developing chatbots with domain-specific databases, creating a resume AI, and using AI for medical simulations. Their work will be showcased on August 9. The AI Core + Design Lab internship is a collaboration between the university's Institute for Computation and Data-Enabled Insight and Student Engagement and Career Development.
