AI is proving to be truly remarkable, advancing from ChatGPT to agents, reasoning, as well as voice, image, and video creation. The technology seems limitless. With Elon Musk now figuring out how to connect 100, 000 Nvidia chips in a high-speed network, the potential only expands further. Among the numerous applications of AI—spanning art, music, warfare, medicine, science, and learning—one feature excites me above all others. As a business person and analyst, I believe it holds tremendous potential. This feature is "interconnectedness. " For the first time in my adult life, we have a technology capable of understanding the interconnections of information. I've always been a systems thinker. My scientific background led me to believe that any issue could be fully understood by considering all the related factors. I'm currently reading a great book, "The Song of the Cell, " by Siddhartha Mukherjee, which highlights the magical interconnectedness of the human body. Each cell, in its complexity, collaborates with others to create the miracle of life. Companies function similarly. As I read the book, I realized our companies resemble human bodies: individual teams (cells) work collectively and must interconnect, share, and coexist within the whole. This systemic concept (central to Systemic HR) sets high-performing companies apart from others. I urge my HR colleagues to consider this. Every financial and business process is interconnected (for example, a supplier raising prices can impact profits, triggering sales discounts, affecting customer perception).

HR professionals operate in this "soup of data" daily. A decision like "who to hire" has broad systemic effects across the organization.
