Indian Airlines Disrupted by Multiple Hoax Threat Calls

NEW DELHI: Hoax threat calls continue to disrupt Indian airlines. From late Friday night into early Saturday, three Air India group flights received threat notifications. Vistara's Delhi-London flight was diverted to Frankfurt, and after a thorough inspection, the aircraft continued on to its original destination. Air India's Newark-Mumbai flight experienced delays for checks at its origin before eventually departing for India. Additionally, an AI Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur arrived at its destination and underwent checks upon landing in a remote parking area. A spokesperson for Vistara stated, "Flight UK17, which was operating from Delhi to London on October 18, received a security threat via social media.

Following our protocol, all relevant authorities were promptly notified. As a precaution, the pilots opted to divert the flight to Frankfurt. It landed safely at Frankfurt Airport, where security agencies conducted all mandatory checks, and the aircraft was subsequently cleared to continue its journey. At Vistara, the safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft is our top priority.
