TOKYO -- According to sources, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Japan is set to introduce a state-of-the-art supercomputer to support the advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI). The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), under METI's guidance, plans to develop a supercomputer with computing capabilities approximately 2. 5 times more powerful than its current machine by 2024.
