Although DeepSeek is open source—allowing local operation and control of user data—most users lack the technical skills or resources for effective local deployment, highlighting issues of privacy. DeepSeek’s unclear privacy policy emphasizes the urgent need for integrating AI and blockchain, especially in light of over 1. 7 billion data breach notices reported in the US last year. This integration aims to protect users’ data, but whether existing blockchain nodes can achieve this is still debated. As AI and blockchain converge, significant developments are occurring, such as in decentralized data storage and large language models (LLMs).

The emergence of AI agents like ElizaOS, which functions as a decentralized AI venture capital DAO, illustrates the transformative potential of AI agents in Web3 applications, including trading strategies and dynamic gaming economies. However, blockchain's public nature raises privacy concerns, particularly when AI agents automate sensitive tasks like trading. These challenges necessitate the concept of Private AI, which runs AI models on encrypted data to alleviate security and privacy issues. This approach unlocks new use cases across various sectors, with "DeFAI" indicating the merger of decentralized finance (DeFi) and AI. Private AI not only facilitates secure on-chain trading but also supports privacy in healthcare innovation by allowing AI to process sensitive patient data in an encrypted state. This enables secure, decentralized healthcare applications that enhance diagnosis and trend tracking while safeguarding personal information. As the understanding and application of Private AI continue to evolve, it will become increasingly clear how it can promote both innovation and privacy, emphasizing their interconnectedness.
