Future jobs will require 'cognitive skills' AI can't do - Fortune

Attendees at Fortune Brainstorm AI in London are exploring the various activities that have been sparked by the latest advances in data technology, including AI-generated videos, symphony compositions, sports team building, and financial transformations. A panel discussion on the future of work highlighted the importance of both driving efficiencies and embracing innovation. While AI excels in many areas, there is still a need for humans to focus on cognitive skills such as communication, empathy, and analytical thinking. Palantir's Guy Williams discussed how the defense sector has benefited from computer vision technology, enabling quicker analysis and identification of objects of interest.

Fortune executives also announced a new product, developed in partnership with Accenture, that will leverage generative AI to provide deep content and data insights. In addition, GM CEO Mary Barra emphasized the significance of Fortune as a source of news and trends amidst the rapidly changing business landscape driven by technology advancements. In other news, former TikTok employees revealed ongoing collaboration with its Chinese parent company, raising concerns about data privacy. Tesla's share of the American electric car market has decreased as competitors gain ground, and China's Gen-Z consumers are adopting a "stingy economy" approach by seeking domestic products and discounts.
