Google Launches Premium AI Subscription Service 'Google AI Ultra' with Advanced Features

Google is launching a new artificial intelligence subscription service called "Google AI Ultra, " which provides exclusive access to the company’s most advanced AI products. Announced Tuesday at the annual Google IO developer conference, this plan offers the highest usage limits, the latest AI models, and premium features. Priced at $249. 99 per month, the subscription also includes early access to experimental products and a YouTube Premium subscription. Josh Woodward, head of product incubator Google Labs and the Gemini app, described it as a VIP pass for Google AI, designed for pioneers eager to utilize the company’s cutting-edge AI technology. The plan boasts a substantial 30 terabytes of storage, Woodward added. Google already offers premium versions of some cloud and AI services under a tier named "Google One AI Premium, " priced between $19. 99 and $149. 99 monthly depending on storage capacity. Google AI Ultra aims to attract premium users willing to pay more for access to Google’s AI offerings, as the company works to monetize AI products and diversify its revenue amid evolving market conditions.

Alphabet’s advertising revenue growth remains strong but has slowed recently, partly due to users increasingly turning to AI chatbots such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT for information. In fact, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Pro last December, a $200 monthly plan that provides scaled access to its top models and tools. Google AI Ultra features the company’s flagship AI app Gemini, including the newly unveiled Gemini 2. 5 Pro "DeepThink" mode for intensive research. It also includes new AI tools like Flow for filmmaking and Notebook LM, a note-to-podcast tool, both offered with the highest usage limits. Woodward noted the plan will continuously incorporate many other early access features. It also offers access to experimental projects such as Project Mariner, an agent research prototype capable of managing up to 10 simultaneous tasks, along with the latest Gemini models and early access to Veo 3, Google’s new video generation tool. The Ultra subscription will launch in the U. S. starting Tuesday and will be made available in other countries over the coming months, according to the company.

Brief news summary

Google has introduced "Google AI Ultra," a new AI subscription service priced at $249.99 per month, designed for users seeking advanced AI technology with premium features. Subscribers receive the highest usage limits, including 30 terabytes of storage, and early access to experimental tools such as Gemini 2.5 Pro's "DeepThink" mode for in-depth research, the filmmaking AI Flow, the note-to-podcast Notebook LM, and Project Mariner, an agent managing up to 10 simultaneous tasks. The service also bundles a YouTube Premium subscription. Launching first in the U.S., Google AI Ultra aims to attract premium users and diversify Alphabet’s revenue amid slowing ad growth and competition from services like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro. This initiative reflects Google's strategy to expand its AI ecosystem with innovative, early-access offerings for a growing market of advanced AI users.
