Introducing TikTok AI Alive: Transform Photos into Dynamic Videos in Stories

Creativity ignites inspiration, joy, and deeper connections for over one billion people on TikTok. We are passionate about developing tools that enable anyone to unleash their creativity and become a creator on TikTok. Today, we are thrilled to introduce TikTok AI Alive, a groundbreaking creative feature that converts static photos into dynamic, immersive videos directly within TikTok Stories. A photo can say a thousand words, and TikTok aims to push this new mode of visual storytelling even further. With AI Alive, creators can easily animate their photos to craft richer, more visually captivating stories for their communities. Exclusively available within TikTok’s Story Camera, AI Alive employs intelligent editing tools that empower everyone—regardless of editing skill—to transform still images into engaging short-form videos with movement and atmospheric, creative effects. As TikTok’s first AI-powered image-to-video creation tool, AI Alive puts creative control right in your hands. Imagine taking a peaceful sunset photo and effortlessly turning it into a cinematic clip: the sky slowly transitions through colors, clouds float gently, and the sound of waves crashing in the distance enhances the scene. Or animate a group selfie into a lively, moving memory that highlights the subtle gestures and expressions of friends or family.
AI Alive unlocks these creative possibilities, elevating everyday content to new heights. How it works: - Open Story Camera by tapping the blue "+" icon at the top of your Inbox or Profile page. - Select a single photo from your Story Album. - The AI Alive icon will appear on the right toolbar of the photo editing screen. - After creating and posting your AI Alive Story, viewers can see it in the For You and Following feeds, as well as on your profile page, offering multiple ways for your followers to engage with your content. We prioritize safety in all our developments, including our AI innovations. As AI Alive enables fresh forms of creative expression, it undergoes multiple trust and safety checks to protect our community. To prevent content that violates policies, moderation technology reviews the uploaded photo, the written AI prompt, and the resulting AI Alive video before it’s shown to the creator. A final safety review occurs when the creator decides to post to their Story. Like other content, users can report videos they believe violate our rules. Additionally, AI Alive stories will carry an AI-generated label for transparency about how content was created, and include embedded C2PA metadata—a technology that helps identify AI-generated content even if it’s downloaded and shared outside the platform. We look forward to seeing how creators use AI Alive to enhance their storytelling, share genuine moments, and inspire creativity across the TikTok community.
