Along with this disturbing experience, she also faced a barrage of messages from fans that ranged from "disgusting" to "absurd. " Ortega expressed her strong dislike for AI, stating that while it has the potential for incredible advancements, she believes it should be limited to positive applications. She highlighted the example of AI being able to detect breast cancer early, which she found to be a beautiful use of the technology. However, her own encounter with AI-generated explicit content at the age of 14 was terrifying, corrupt, and wrong in her eyes. Recalling her early experiences with social media, Ortega mentioned receiving unsolicited explicit photos from strangers as young as 12 years old. She initially created a Twitter account due to pressure to build her image but eventually deleted it two to three years ago after the overwhelming influx of disturbing images and messages following the release of her show. These experiences left Ortega feeling disgusted, uncomfortable, and unable to express herself without encountering such content.

One day, she woke up and realized she didn't need this negativity in her life, leading her to delete her Twitter account. Recently, Ortega has been promoting her role in Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, " which is premiering at the Venice Film Festival and releasing in theaters on September 6th by Warner Bros. She began her acting career at the young age of 9, which subjected her to online harassment. Reflecting on her decision to start acting at such a young age, Ortega admitted that there are times when she and her parents regret it. However, she wouldn't change anything because she values the lessons it taught her. She now possesses a wealth of knowledge about the industry, understanding camera terminologies, the roles of various crew members, and even going through shot lists. This familiarity creates a sense of safety, comfort, and excitement for her when she goes to work every day.
