The Oscar-winning actor expressed his gratitude to his devoted fans for their vigilance in identifying and discouraging the unauthorized use of an AI voice impersonating him. Freeman emphasized the importance of preserving authenticity and integrity, and he labeled the use of such AI technology as a scam and imitation that threatens identity protection. Known for narrating nature documentaries and even portraying the voice of God, Freeman's distinctive baritone was mimicked in a TikTok video titled "Justine's Camera Roll, " in which a woman pretends to be his niece.

Despite the creator clarifying that it was meant as an obvious joke, some viewers on Twitter and Instagram were confused and believed it was actually Freeman narrating. Unfortunately, Freeman is not the first celebrity to experience AI impersonation without consent, as others like Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, and Tupac Shakur have also been affected. In response, Freeman's team expressed disappointment in a follow-up video and apologized for any misunderstandings caused by the TikTok video.
