The Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics at Arizona State University has been selected by the National Humanities Center (NHC) as one of four organizations to receive funding for the second phase of the Responsible AI Curriculum Design Project. This recognizes the Lincoln Center as a leading institution in the field of humane technology. The project, initially launched with support from Google, aims to generate undergraduate curriculum on responsible AI. The Lincoln Center's involvement in the first phase led to the creation of the first class at ASU focused on the human impacts of AI. The Lincoln Center will now collaborate with Mesa Community College to develop responsible AI curricula.
The center has also launched two workgroups this semester, addressing the ethics and sustainability of AI. These groups are comprised of scholars from various departments across ASU and align with the center's focus on ethical innovation and humane technologies. The center will also be launching a third workgroup this summer, exploring reparative archives and digital humanities. Through these initiatives, the Lincoln Center aims to foster dialogue and engagement with the ethical implications of AI.
