NVIDIA Launches Project DIGITS, A Personal AI Supercomputer with Grace Blackwell Platform

NVIDIA has introduced Project DIGITS, a personal AI supercomputer powered by the NVIDIA Grace Blackwell platform, aimed at AI researchers, data scientists, and students. The core of this system is the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which offers up to a petaflop of AI performance and enables extensive model prototyping, tuning, and execution. This supercomputer can be used locally for developing AI models, which can then be deployed on cloud or data center infrastructure. Project DIGITS includes a system-on-a-chip design that features an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with state-of-the-art CUDA and Tensor Cores for efficient AI processing. It offers up to 128GB of unified memory and 4TB of storage.
Enhanced with NVIDIA ConnectX networking, it supports running extremely large models by linking two supercomputers. With Project DIGITS, users, including enterprises and researchers, can test and scale AI models on local systems powered by the Grace Blackwell architecture, using the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. It also provides access to a wide array of NVIDIA AI software tools and frameworks for experimentation and development. Project DIGITS is set to become available in May for a starting price of $3, 000. NVIDIA, a leader in accelerated computing, emphasizes that its product offerings and technological developments are subject to change and potential risks which could affect anticipated outcomes.
Brief news summary
NVIDIA has launched Project DIGITS, an AI supercomputing initiative aimed at making AI technology more accessible to researchers, data scientists, and students globally. Central to this effort is the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which provides a petaflop of AI computing power, allowing for the development of large-scale AI models on desktop systems. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the project's goal to democratize AI supercomputing by equipping developers and students with powerful computational tools to enhance AI accessibility. The GB10 Superchip features the Grace Blackwell architecture, combining an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with advanced CUDA and Tensor Cores, and an ARM-based CPU co-developed with MediaTek. It offers high efficiency and performance with 128GB of unified memory and up to 4TB of NVMe storage, supporting AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. With NVIDIA ConnectX networking, it can manage models as large as 405 billion parameters, facilitating local prototype development and scalable solutions via NVIDIA DGX Cloud or other platforms. Scheduled for release in May, starting at $3,000, Project DIGITS will also include the NVIDIA AI Enterprise suite. This suite provides a comprehensive set of tools, frameworks, and services essential for AI development and deployment, making it a valuable resource for educational and professional AI innovation.
